O polonês Michal Kwiatkowski encerrou o primeiro fim de semana da Vuelta a España na liderança da classificação geral. Com dois segundos lugares nas duas etapas inicias da competição, ele ostenta a camisa vermelha com tempo total de 4h22min40s, 14s à frente de Alejandro Valverde.
Foi a consistência que deu ao representante da Sky a ponta da classificação geral. A primeira etapa da Vuelta foi um contrarrelógio individual de 8 km em Málaga. Kwiato, como é conhecido, ficou com a segunda colocação do estágio com o tempo de 9min45s – a vitória foi do australiano Rohan Dennis com 9min39s.
O polonês voltou a subir ao pódio da segunda etapa, realizada neste domingo com 171,5 km entre Marbella e Caminito del Rey. Ele foi o segundo colocado do dia, superado apenas pelo local Alejandro Valverde – os dois cruzaram a linha de chegada com 4h13min01s.
Michal Kwiatkowski defende a liderança da Vuelta nesta segunda-feira, na terceira etapa da competição. Serão 178,2 km entre Mijas e Alhaurín de la Torre.
