Já pensou encarar uma prova com 1.576 degraus? Foi o que fizeram na última quarta-feira (1) os participantes da corrida do Empire State Building Run-Up, uma prova vertical que acontece todos os anos em um dos mais famosos prédios de Nova York.
Entre os homens, o primeiro lugar ficou com o polonês Piotr Lobodzinski, 31 anos, que percorreu os 86 andares do arranha-céu em 10min31s. Parece um tempo incrível, não? Porém o recorde da prova é de 9min33s, conquistado em 2003 pelo australiano Paul Crake. Já na categoria feminina, o título ficou com Suzy Waltham, 43 anos, de Cingapura, com o tempo de 12min11s.
Entre os que cruzaram o “degrau de chegada” da corrida do Empire State Building estava uma sobrevivente do atentado à Maratona de Boston, que perdeu uma perna no incidente, e seu noivo, o bombeiro que a socorreu no dia. Os dois terminaram a prova juntos em 58min44s.
