Nesta sexta-feira (1 de agosto), o Brasil subiu ao pódio duas vez durante a quinta etapa da Copa do Mundo de Maratonas Aquáticas, realizada no Lago canadense de Magog. Ana Marcela Cunha (2h06min41s83) conquistou o ouro e ampliou sua liderança na classificação geral da competição feminina, enquanto Allan do Carmo ficou com o bronze e assumiu a dianteira do torneio masculino ao completar o percurso de 10 km em 1h55min12s94.
Ana Marcela faturou medalhas em todas as etapas disputadas no atual circuito e, na disputa que aconteceu no lago Magog, ela ficou à frente da chinesa Yu Shi, segundo colocada com o tempo de 2h06min42s70, e da argentina Cecília Biagioli, que concluiu o trajeto de 10 km em terceiro, em 2h06min43s94.
Entre os homens, o norte-americano Alex Meyer (1h55min10s63) levou o ouro, e o alemão Thomas Lurz, atual campeão da competição, ficou com prata. Ainda no masculino, os brasileiros Samuel de Bona (1h55min13s24) e Diogo Vilarinho (1h55min14s55.) terminaram a prova em quarto e sexto lugares, respectivamente.
Após os resultados de hoje, o Brasil soma 11 medalhas no circuito (quatro de ouro, quatro de prata e três de bronze). A próxima etapa da Copa do Mundo de Maratonas Aquáticas também será no Canadá. Dessa vez o lago Megantic receberá a disputa no dia 9 de agosto.
